Around 1,200 species of butterflies can be found in Malaysia. They can be found in the gardens and urban parks, forest fringes, open habitats, and also in thick forests and jungle, in the highlands and lowlands. This section contains photographs of selected Malaysian butterflies, mainly from lowlands.
