The Canton of Vaud is located in the south-western part of Switzerland (3,212 km² - 610,000 inhabitants). It stretches from Lake Neuchatel in the north, where it borders the Canton of Neuchatel up to Lake Geneva in the south, bordering the Canton of Geneva and France in the west, Canton of Valais in the southeast and Cantons of Fribourg and Bern in the north. The capital city is Lausanne.
