The Canton Obwalden (491 km2 – 35,100 inhabitants) is located in the centre of Switzerland. It contains the geographical centre of Switzerland. Obwalden shares borders with Canton Lucerne to the northwest, Cantons Nidwalden and Uri to the east and Canton Bern to the south. The capital city is Sarnen.
