Java Island

Java is the world's 13th largest island (132,000 km2), , world's most populous island (136 million), and one of the most densely populated regions in the world (1,029/km2). The island is divided into four provinces, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Banten and two special districts, Jakarta and Yogyakarta. The Java island is home to 60% of Indonesia's population. Java Island is located between Sumatra Island to the west and Bali Island to the east. Borneo Island lies to the north and Christmas Island to the south. It is surrounded by Java Sea in the north, Sunda Strait in the west, Indian Ocean in the south and Bali & Madura Strait in the east.
