Kerala

Kerala state is located south most on Indian west coast. The state has an area of 38,863 km2 and is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the south and southeast and the Arabian (Lakshadweep) Sea towards the west. Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of the state. Kochi-Ernakulam and Kozhikode are the major cities. Kerala is a popular tourist destination famous for its backwaters, ayurdevic treatments, hill stations and tropical greenery. The state has a literacy rate of 94.6%, the highest in India.
